On March 10, 2024, starting at 2:30 p.m., the Gemona Carnival returns to color the streets of the old town again this year!

The Association Pro Loco Pro Glemona A.P.S. and the Municipality of Gemona are pleased to announce the highly anticipated return of "Carnival in Gemona," a traditional event that has deep roots in the heart of the community and which, after a long hiatus of 33 years, made its triumphant return in 2023.

"Carnival in Gemona" is more than just a celebration, it is a dip into the past that connects the generations and celebrates the rich cultural tradition of our region. Once again this year, the historic center of Gemona will be the stage for a magnificent parade of floats and masked groups from not only from Gemona, but from every corner of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The streets of Via Caneva, Piazza
Garibaldi, Via Cavour, Piazza del Municipio, Via XX Settembre and Piazzetta del Ponte will be transformed into a riot of color, creativity and merriment.
The event revives a tradition that dates back to the early 1900s and has captured the imagination of many generations. In 2023, "Carnival in Gemona" returned with an overwhelming surprise, attracting a large audience and the participation of many local groups and associations. The enthusiasm generated prompted the organizers to reconfirm the event for 2024, with the aim of making it even more engaging and giving rise to a new season of Gemona Carnivals.

The parade will go through the main streets of the historic center, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. The community is invited to actively participate, wearing original masks and costumes, thus contributing to the unique and unforgettable atmosphere of the event.
